I have worked with wood and wire for 40 years. Although I started working in the round, I found that the format I enjoy most is low relief woodcarving.
My materials often reflect the texture of natural subjects, and the pieces can be small enough to fit in a palm or five feet long. I have a special interest in local species of wood, and in salvaged wood; my work is connected with the place I live. New Jersey is home to many lovely and functional trees, some of which are never harvested commercially but can yield surprising results.
I’ve completed a variety of hand-carved custom relief wooden signs, plaques, and walking sticks, and I’ve enjoyed speaking to customers about the meaning that those works have to them.

“We got our Sondra Hara Flite original today and have officially suspended our disbelief!!! How cool is that?!? Dominick saw a massive wire shark she had created at the Metuchen Art & Music Festival (along with all of her awesome wood carvings and creations that I immediately wanted to buy), and asked if she could make a custom piece for us. She ran with the idea and we couldn’t be happier!”
